Yup - its the event of the year.
I’m glad that I have two marketing person to assist me to run this event. Though both are rather new in the organization, I believe that each of them has got their plus points and I have to learn how to encourage them to strive harder.
How is Microsoft Tech-Ed? Hmmm.. I went over in the afternoon, and its really difficult to get a parking even though I have a prepaid parking ticket for Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Alas, I manage to find a parking space, and got the marketing person to assist me to carry up some of the stuff. Crowd is ok, got people who spoke to us and shown interest in our programmes. There will need to be follow up before we can make the sale happen. On the other hand, our other booth generated quite a good sale for first day. Not too bad.
I will not be there full day, but will drop by when I can. See how la.
Managing the staff is not something that I can learn in a fortnight, I have to admit. Now that I have a Marketing Manager under my charge, I am finding it a real challenge to manage human. I can handle my workload pretty well, but when it comes to the human factor, its really tough for me. Therefore, I’m learning the finer arts of managing people now.
At the same time, I am trying to fine tune all the job loads that I am handling so that my Marketing Manager and my Marketing Executive can share the workload from me. We are also running a major annual event and I’m bursting with ideas to implement now.

This is where we stayed during last week’s trip to Lang Tengah, off Terengganu. Its a dive resort - very convenient for those who love the beach, snorkeling and diving. I didn’t get a tan this round, thanks to my SPF50 sunblock.
Lang Tengah is beautiful and crystal clear water - perfect for snorkeling. We only snorkel around the resort because of my seasick thingy. Here’s more pics :-

I just returned from my trip to Lang Tengah, and I’m greeted by 7 new baby hamsters!
I already have 11 hamsters currently, and I’m trying to find new owners for the 7 new baby hamsters. If you know anyone who would like to keep hamsters as pets, and would love them as much as I do - please tell me! Roborovski Hamsters are very easy to care for, all they need is sufficient food and water and a clean cage (which requires cleaning once a week). They are entertaining and provide good companionship. The maximum size they can be is about 2 inches.
Unlike larger species, they don’t bite and are very tame. All of them have their own characters - some are lazy, some are glutton and some are sleepy heads (like me!). They are each unique, so you can really tell them apart.
If you are interested to have Roborovski Hamsters or you know of anyone who wants one, please tell me!

When I am doing up my presentation slides, I am always constantly for new & fresh images to add illustration in my presentation. That’s when I find out that there are stock photography sites that offers free images to their members, like Crestock.com which offers one free image daily via their website.
For more variety, I also use Dreamstime.com which offers free images, and they are all time-factored. One free image is offered for a specific time, after which you have to pay for the images, just like other stock photography sites. Although the resolution are not fantastic, they are sufficient for use on presentation slides and for non-commercial reasons.
There was a nasty accident at LDP (near Damansara Perdana) today as we were driving home. A Naza Citra rammed into a Mercedes Benz which then rammed into a Proton Saga Aeroback. From what I see, the Naza Citra (the last car) must have just rammed straight into the Merc without stopping, and the impact pushed the car to ram the other car in front.
The moral of the story is to not drive too fast, especially at the corners and turns as you will never know if there is a slower car in front and you could just ram straight into the car. LDP is one of the highways that has a very high accident rate. People drive very fast especially when the traffic is not so heavy. When I was staying at Kelana Jaya previously, we would always hear car screeching followed by a loud bang especially on weekends. My brother and myself (we live in one of the condos) would go up to the 10th floor to take a good look of the accident from the highest floor.
And usually, when an accident happens - the traffic congestion is amazing! Today itself, hubby and myself were caught in 2 congestions because of accidents.
