My colleagues arranged a karaoke session today to celebrate my big boss’s birthday. We went to Red Box at The Curve - a total of 15 of us. I started out with eating, and my colleagues started signing decently. However, as the night goes by - the singing became so horrible and loud that I felt so difficult. On top of that, they all smoked inside the room.

I felt very uncomfortable - because by nature, I’m the type that loves quiet surroundings. And the smoke made my head so heavy that I felt like sleeping - probably due to the lack of oxygen. And then, a colleague had too much of a drink and became so unruly and out of control that it felt just so uneasy.

I didn’t enjoy the session at all. I went home at 15 minutes to 12, even then, they were just starting to order more food and stuff… All I wanted is to sleep. I feel like I have not had enough sleep ever since the last 5-day event.

I still like the proper karaoke where people takes turn to sing properly. Where a song can really be sang nicely and can be enjoyed by all. But having 3 tone-deaf people singing like its their own concert - only they can enjoy it while the rest have to suffer. And the rock music is a real turn off for me. It makes me feel like I want to sleep!

Now, all i want is to zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Just on Saturday, I brought my mum to Midvalley for some light shopping. There, we met up with my brother and his family who was also shopping. We decided to have lunch at Nando’s because Kenny Rogers was packed the the brim and there was a very long queue waiting to be seated.

At Nando’s, we ordered some food while waiting for the staff to provide us with utensils. It was a 10 minute wait, and nothing came. At 15 minutes, our food arrived without any utensils. My brother then asked a staff for the utensils, and nothing came. He then asked for a total of 5 times and grew impatient as all of us were hungry and had to eat with our hands. On the other hand, other diners who came much later were already served with utensils. My brother then shouted at the manager and the utensils came immediately.

I later called for the manager and asked her why we did not get the service that we should. She just smiled and couldn’t answer. I asked her if its because my family was not dressed like a million dollars that the staff don’t think I deserve a good service from Nando’s. Or that if I was paying less than the other diners, which is why the staff doesn’t bother to serve us. Instead of giving me an explanation, she just gave me a 10% discount. That’s it. Damn it - its not like I couldn’t afford to pay the 10%. The total bill came up to approx RM100 and 10% is just a mere RM10. So, I got a RM10 discount for them to ridicule me and my family. My brother asked me not to kick up a fuss, and just paid the bill.

If you asked me, I’m going to tell every soul that I know about this horrible experience I had at Nando’s. And they can be sure that I’m going to tell more than 12 person (some theory that every bad experience will be shared with at least 12 person). Worst ever dining experience I’ve ever had. They had everything done right, but the service to spoil it all. Below is a pic of the outlet we went to :-

The outlet is located at the Lower Ground Floor, in front of Harvey Normans. Total NO-NO for me ever!

Yes - I’ve gone missing for about a week now. I stayed at the Pyramid Suites for the last 5 days because of my on-going event at the Sunway Convention Centre. And I can tell you that it felt like prison! The place is fantastic, no doubt about that but I did not even step out of the place for the last 6 days! Can you imagine that? I practically did not see the sun at all - waking up at 6am daily and only returning home after 9pm or at times as late as 2am.

Anyway, I took a few pics of the lovely Pyramid Suite that I lived in (alone!). This place cost RM400++ per night and the view from the 19th floor is fantastic, really. I got a corner unit, so it came with a cool balcony and everything I needed.

The Kitchen - it came equipped with everything you need to cook - from pots and pans to knifes, toaster, rice cooker, a variety of wine glasses (not that i know how to differentiate them) - name it you have it.

This couch is so lovely because beside it is the floor to ceiling window that looks out to KL view. I’d not use it to watch tv because the bed seems more comfy to lie down at. Hahaha..

The bed - I know, its super messy. I just finished watching some movie, and like I said.. I watched it lying down. Just so very me.

The washroom. Its super huge, and it had the toilet bowl at the other corner (not in the pic).

Bird eye view of everything in a combination. There is a dining table on the left, and beside it is a door to the balcony.

Oh yes, and there was a group of Hong Kong celebrities when we stayed there. I kept on bumping into them - going to meet up with my colleagues, returning to room, walking around… and I think they would also think that I’m following them! I’m not, coz I don’t know any of them except Eric Tsang. I’m not a fan anyway.

P/S : Hubby took some amazing shots of the Pyramid Hotel at his blog. Taken with a Sony DSLR, it looks much better than mine above

mph warehouse sale, zara warehouse sale, saturday, exhausted

I am extremely exhausted. I had a super super long day, packed with activities. I guess I’m getting really old, and I can’t take all these exhaustive activities, really. Here’s the running of the day :-

6:20am
Woke up coz hubby woke up. I thought it was a working day. Then I suddenly realised its a Saturday and got up to ask hubby whether he has mistakenly taken today as a working day. He said no, he just got up to bathe earlier.

7:00am
I forced hubby to go downstairs with me to wash my car. Its been 3 weeks since I washed the car, and its getting very dusty and dirty. I spend 45 minutes washing and drying the car. Then hubby said we should go get newspapers and breakfast for dad, and we drove out the newly washed car. Went back home after that.

8:20am
Hubby said that we should go to the post office to claim the petrol rebate for both our cars. We went out to the post office located within the community, and found that the post office opens at 9:00am. So, we took a drink at the nearest mamak stall.

9:00am
We started lining up at the queue in front of the post office. It opened at 9:05am - and everything was settled by 9:20am. We went home after that

9:30am
Hubby’s friend reached our home. We rushed down. We were going for Bak Kut Teh. We reached Bak Kut Teh place at 10:15am. FInished at about 11:00am

11:00am
We decided to go the MPH Warehouse sale. Damn hard to find a place to park, so we parked at Section 14 and walked. It was a long walk in the hot hot sun. Bought 2 books and then friend said that we should check out Zara warehouse sale in the vicinity. The queue was damn super long. And nothing I fancied.

1:00pm
We had a light lunch at Sushi King, near Section 14, then proceed to the Digital Mall - friend wanted to purchase something.

2:45pm
Reached home. Took a bath and drove to Puchong

3:30pm
Reached Puchong. Wanted to sleep but my nephew was just too disruptive to even get a cat nap.

6:00pm
Got ready for the full moon party at brother’s apartment. By 7:00pm, everyone came, and there was limited seats, so I stand most of the time. The entire thing ended at 10:00pm. I’m dead tired.

10:15pm
Drove home. Reached at 10:45pm. Took a bath, and started writing this. Just too too tired for anything else.

The weather has been bad.. raining close to the evenings, causing massive traffic congestion even as late as 8PM. I usually leave office between 7:30PM to 8:00PM as the traffic will usually slow down after the peak hours. However, for these few days, traffic has been surprisingly heavy.

The LDP today (nearing Damansara Perdana) was also congested, then when only to realise that a brand new Perodua Myvi, with registration plate WRV, stalled right in the middle of the highway. It caused curious drivers to slow down and see what happened. It seemed like an accident, but when I got nearer then I notice that its the only car with flickering lights with the driver inside. Such a new car and stalled? Hmmm…

The tol is ok, with about 5 cars ahead of me in the TouchNGo lane. Sigh, I have to remind myself to buy the SmartTag. I’m getting impatient waiting at the lines at times. If they have a FlyTag that allows me to fly pass, I will get one. Hahaha.. I think as I grow older, I get more impatient at queues. Nevertheless, no matter how impatient I am, I never cut queue - its just against my principles. I see a lot of people cut queue in the mornings, but I never ever do that. Its just in me.

Caught a glimpse of the super cute SmartForTwo today also. Damn… I’m so in love with the car. But at the price tag of RM90K++, I’d put the money into some capital appreciating asset. However, if someone is going to give me the car as a gift, I will not say no… hahaha… (I can carry on dreaming about it!)

Tired day… sleepy and just want to hit the lumber… zzzzzz

After the melamine scare, a lot of people dare not eat biscuits, sweets, ice-cream, milk and any other products that has milk content. Even my dad asked my brother not to feed my young 3-year old nephew any biscuit. I think these are precautionary measures to make sure that the young ones do not suffer from premature illnesses.

But I have not changed. I still buy ice-cream, biscuits… etc. I guess I HAVE to eat these items. In short, I’ve got a sweet tooth so its difficult to ask me to cut on these items. I recently topped up my supply of biscuits - but I bought mostly Tesco brands. They say that they are made in UK, but I can never know if the raw materials are sourced from which part of the world. Anyway, never mind - cos I am already 31 this year.. so even if my life ends here.. I have lived half my life. Enough lah… life is too short to worry about everything.

Did you notice also that everything we eat these days can have some sort of contamination or poison or problem or just something? If you eat corn, look out for genetically modified versions because they are bad for health. If you eat chicken, beware of chicken that are injected with hormones to make them grow in 6 weeks (now most chickens are!). If you eat fish, then you should be aware that the high pollution in the sea & rivers make fishes not really a safe delicacy. If you eat vegetables, then be aware of those insecticides they use on the leafs. If you eat too much processed food, you are in danger of obesity.. blah blah blah. Now, even milk can have problem! So, what to eat aaa?

For me, I try not to over-worry or over-think about this whole thing. Just enjoy life while I can

I’ve had this personal blog for some time now. It started off with purchasing a domain name (which I can’t even recall the real reason behind it) and then it spinned off with creating several other subdomains for blogs and other stuff. There is a lot of nonsense in it - from my thoughts, to my spur moments, my feelings and my wishes… all but my professional expertise and skills!

So, that’s why I am considering to start a professional blog. This blog will cover all my experience, skills and expertise on marketing, internet technologies, blogging, online expertise. I’ll use it as a platform for me to showcase my skills, and an opportunity for me to gather interested parties who might want to use my skills for a fee. I have some ideas in mind, and will probably make use of one of the domain names that I have, or probably use a totally different name or a subdomain…. hmm.. I’ve yet to decide.

There is a lot to cover in my professional blog - and these include ideas which I have that could never materialise in my current career, because of different market segment, approach and non-suitability to the product. On top of that, I also like to talk about digital media, which today is so hot but a lot of times not used effectively to reap the effects that it could bring. On top of it all, not many organizations in Malaysia utilize the blog as an effective marketing tool.. I’m not sure why.. but a corporate blog (even better if its written by the CEO!) is one of the best marketing tool for an organization. I want to talk all about this - things that I could never express in my current job.

Come to think of it, my job is really getting boring and becoming a drag - because when I talk about all these cool things that could be done out there, I just know one thing - it will not be accepted in my organization, and I will be asked to focus on other things. I’ll be patient for now, and someday someone will realise my potential to let me shine at areas that I’m truly passionate about.
