Interesting Bites

Hubby bought me two Roborovski Hamsters a few months back.  Two weeks ago, my female hamster (we named her Minnie, as in Minnie Mouse) gave birth to 7 little cute hamsters.  We were thrilled to have addition in the hamster family - however the cage was going to be too small to accomodate all of them.

Hubby started asking his friend and colleagues, unfortunately only one of them were eager to take two of the little ones as pets.  It seems that not many people are keen to have pets these days, stating “no time” and “busy” as excuses.  Its such a joy to have pets, plus hamsters are easy to care for.  Anyway, we decided to keep the other 5 little hamsters. 

Yesterday, we bought a new Hamster home from our regular pet store in Carrefour Kepong - Petsmore.com.  We got a Habitrail home, as we wanted the flexiblity of being able to expand the cage (in case we have more hamsters).  After a 10% discount, we got a Habitrail Safari cage and an expansion pack (tunnels) for slightly above RM100.  The cage is green in colour, somewhat similar to their natural habitat and you can customize the tunnels for them to explore.  There are a ton of add-ons we could buy, but we (or the hamsters?) are going to be contented for what we have now.

This is what we initially wanted to get, but we didn’t like the fact that our hamsters didn’t get fresh air because it was fully enclosed.

We got a potty for them as well, but our is much bigger.
