Scary Encounters

I did a search on youtube for “ghost” and saw these few footages, which looks quite legitimate.

NOT EMBEDABLE

I got a steering wheel for my birthday!

This has got to be the weirdest birthday gift for me this year - a controller for my Sony Playstation - a Steering Wheel! In case you are wondering why and who gave me this item as a birthday gift - allow me to introduce this weird person - my hubby!

Why he got me this item is because I told him that I wanted nothing for my birthday, or rather, I said that there is nothing that I want. Well, I already have everything that I need and require - other than new clothes and shoes. So, that’s what I said - I don’t want anything for my birthday. Then I said that its cool to have this steering wheel for my favourite games.

Additionally, the consignment of 10 pcs of Asus Eee PC arrived at my office yesterday. They are all Pearl White in colour and looks amazingly beautiful and sleek. Small but a novel item to have :) No, I’m not getting one because I don’t see a reason for it yet. I don’t travel much, so my bulky heavy laptop is fine with me. We are still making additional purchases for our customers - as we are running a promotion where we are giving out free Asus Eee PC to those who sign up for our training programme.

Next week, I’m running another promotion and this time involves the all-new iPod Nano 8GB available in a rainbow of colours. The best part of it all, I’m going to allow them to choose a colour they prefer! Retailing at RM599, this item will also be given free to those who sign up.

Marketing is interesting when it involves running interesting promotions, gimmicks and advertising.

Higher Interest Rates for Car Purchasers

Effective today, hire purchase interest rates has gone up for new cars!  This means that if you are thinking of purchasing a car, you would have to fork out more for your monthly installment.

For a Perodua Viva at RM40,200, you would have to fork out a monthly installment of RM554.33 based on a 7 year repayment period and 90% loan.  This is an increase of RM42.21 from the old rate.

Nevertheless, the range of cars that will not be affected by this increase in interest rate will be the luxury car range.  If someone is forking out RM4,000 a month for a car, a few hundred extra is not going to hurt.  Therefore, the middle to lower range car buyers will definately be the one most affected by this increase.  And with this, the longer you finance your vehicle, the more you have to pay.

Its scary to think about this increase - because most property owners now will be wondering if the housing loan interest rate will increase next?  As for me, I opted for the fixed rate when we took our home loan, so I still pay the same no matter what happens.  As everything gets more expensive, interest rates increases, I’ve g

Catacomb at Cineleisure Damansara

We made a decision to go to use up our free movie pass (given by my sister-in-law). For a start, I’m not really a fan of going to the cinema for movie because of a few reason..I’ll elaborate in a while. Nevertheless, I hate going to shopping complexes on Saturdays because of the mad traffic that I have to go through and then followed by insufficient car parks.

Today however was rather pleasant. Our home to Cineleisure is a mere 5 minutes and there was plentiful of car parks. Then we just queued some 10 minutes to get our tickets. And as usual, there are always fickle minded people who hog up the lines because they cannot decide what movie to watch, what seat to take, what time to watch. Damn.. why can’t they just be decisive? They are not getting hitched up at the cinema!! I’d just take 2 seconds to make a decision because I’ve got a million other more important stuff that requires my thinking space.

After getting our tickets, we took a short stroll at The Curve, had a cuppa coffee and then walked around some IT gadget shops. Hubby wanted to purchase a Wacom Bamboo but I said “No” because my boss has promised to borrow me his so that we can test it out before purchasing our own. These stuff doesn’t come cheap - we wanted a sophisticated model which can cost slightly over RM1,000. Then we mulled over whether we should get another colour printer. I tell you, this is going to be the 3rd inkjet printer (we’ve already got a laser printer!) I’m getitng. Again, I said “No”. Money is feels better in my pocket. :)

We went for our movie at 9:45pm without any popcorns because my stomach was filled with dinner, coffee and ‘roti bakar’ that we ate. We sat at a couple seat - double seats with no in-betweens. What’s the purpose of that?? So that I could rest my big buttocks on 2/3 of the couple seats? Hahaha… And, my nightmare of cinema came true (which always happens!) :-

1. Someone just have to send SMS or read something from their handphone. Do they know how glaring the stupid light is from their phones?
2. Some people come to the cinema for God-knows-what reason. Can you imagine having a couple seated in a couple seat, with one of them sending SMSes frantically throughout the movie and the other looking bored and lying on my arm rest.
3. Some people with smelly foot, who doesn’t know how smelly it is. I am suffocating to death!
4. Some people just have to come in after the movie starts. Malaysian time?

It was a thriller movie, but some people looked like they are watching a sob-movie. Anyway, after all these, I’d not go to the movie if I had to pay even a dollar for it. I’d still prefer watching from the comfort of my home - sipping a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee, taking my toilet break when I want to, lie down with my blanket if I want to and definately no smelly feet to endure!

Fresh Graduates : Not Competent

When I graduated from a local (unknown) university some 8 years back, I was worried that I’d never get a job because there are so many fresh graduates to compete with - be it from other well-known local universities like University Malaya and also from overseas. How was I going to compete with the rest? To ensure that I got into the job market fast, I relaxed on my expectations and I soon got a job as an Account Manager(sales) in an IT Solutions company. The rest is history…

Today, as a Manager, I conduct interviews to potential employees and have a few conclusion. I try to give equal opportunity to all, be it from local or overseas universities but its sad to say that given a choice, I’d not want to employ a fresh graduate again. Reason? Here’s why… I employed a fresh graduate recently, and this is what he told me :-

1. Want a high salary
2. No passion for his job any longer (even though this is his first job, and only for 3 weeks!)
3. Cannot handle work pressure
4. Complain that his house is far from work
5. No ambition, no vision
6. Just want a simple life
7. Can only do what’s told

After this, I’m no longer going to employ fresh graduates. And my boss feel the same. We are going to go for those who have at least 2 years of sound working experience - so that they can adapt to the working world easier.

These days fresh graduates ask for high salary even though they have no experience, and they think that they can handle the job scope. In reality, they are fresh and not able to perform as what they think they could. At the end, their excuse is that they are tired. To me - this is the type of people who will never go far in their careers - and will probably be at status quo till they retire. If a person has no ambition, then what’s left of them? Gee.. if I’m a girl, I’d not choose a man with no ambition.

Now, I’m back to filling up the vacancy … again! Damn…

Gloomy Sunday

We woke up pretty early today, because mum-in-law wanted to go to the market, after her one week trip to Gold Coast, Australia. She’s damn happening, travelling to places that I’ve never been to and probably travels more than anyone of us! She came back yesterday and said that she wanted to go to the wet market to stock up on some food at home.

At 7:30am, we were already at the Kepong wet market, which was already filled with people who are there to do their sunday shopping. I bought some fruits, and went around to look for some clothes. There are just so many types of China, Korea & Japanese style clothes in the wet market - and they are priced quite reasonable as well. But nothing caught my eye, so I did not buy anything this round.

Just as I thought that its a perfect day to wash the car - it took us more than 1 hour to wait for our turn to get our cars washed. And, I think I wash much faster than them! The best part of it all… it started to rain just after the car is washed! I think I’ll wash the car next week and then put some polish … want the car to look clean & shiny all the time.

We have a dinner to attend tonight, to celebrate mum-in-law’s birthday. And tomorrow is working day again. How time flies..

Adopt-A-Roborovski

I've got one more Roborovski up for adoption. This is a loner, and would prefer to be the lone pet. She's a female... I think! :) If you are keen, drop me a note.
