Attitude At Work
During the last workshop we conducted on Saturday, I asked one of my colleague to do a closing for the workshop we are conducting. The reason is because he is the sales manager and a good closing meant good sales at the end of the day. In return, he was mad at me because I demanded that he did it.
Its amazing that some people even with high positions has got horrible working attitude at work. Some just doesn’t understand the responsibilities that they hold and that they have do get the job done no matter what it takes. I told this to my immediate superior, and she agreed that the sales manager has got some attitude problem. When we went home, he refused to speak to me. Well, I am fine with that. If a 35 year old wants to act childishly, so be it. I’ve got a career and a job to make sure that the whole team works hand-in-hand.
Bottom line is that, a horrible attitude will not bring you far wherever you go. I truly believe that with the correct attitude, you can go very far in whatever career or business you are in. One thing for sure, he has lost his credibility as a sales manager, and I’m pretty sure that if there is an important task that needs to be done - he will be the last to be considered.
