Micheal Jackson is dead?

June 26th, 2009

I went to the petrol station down my office block to buy some stuff this morning and was shocked when I overheard a conversation that Micheal Jackson is dead.

According to news sources, he was pronounced dead after parademics found him in coma in his Bel-Air home.

I did a google search and the below came up …

Los Angeles Times

Cough.. cough.. and cough

May 24th, 2009

I’ve been unwell for the past 2 weeks, losing appetite and losing weight.  However, I started recovering in the last 3 days and my appetite has gotten the better of me.  Hahaha.. I’m trying to make up for all the lost food over the last weeks.  :)

Coughing has been bad… I’ve even resorted to isolating myself from the rest by sitting at the fourth floor, which also happens to be in front of the boss’s office.  I’ve drank lots of water, ate all sorts of cough drops and seen the doctor thrice.

At the last, the doctor gave me a medication to treat the throat irritation and that medicine was so strong that it caused my hands to tremble.  The effect was more than that, as I found out later, causing my nerves to behave weirdly.  Once at night, I did a small stretch and I got cramped attack three times.  The pain was so severe and it still hurts till now.  The tremble was also inconvenient as I couldn’t write!  I stopped the medication yesterday and things returned to normal… phew!

With the wake of AH1N1, people were also asking me whether I had contracted the deadly flu.  I have not gone overseas and neither has anyone of my family returned from overseas - so … of course not.  Morever, I got the cough from my 4 year old nephew.

Anyway, I’m moving down to my cubicle tomorrow because I’m much much better now.  :)

I need dog food

May 12th, 2009

I’m looking to purchase dog food on a long term basis for Furry Friends Farm owned by Sabrina Yeap.  I was at their website today and found that they require a range of items to upkeep their facility in Kundang.  I’ve copied the items below :-

Supplies needed to date:

1. Dewormer for pups, 3-4 KG body weight;
2. Dewormer for dogs 12-15 KG body weight;
3. Dog shampoo;
4. Dog food (dry or can);
5. Rice (2kg,5kg or 10kg pack).

Cash sponsorship can be forwarded to:

Furry Friends Farm
1457-0001182-056 (CIMB account number)

If you need a receipt for your sponsorship please contact Sabrina Yeap for further information.

If you can provide some of these items, please feel free to do so. As for me, I’m trying to gather my resources and friends to pool some money together to make a purchase of some of the below items and deliver them to Furry Friends Farm.

By the way, I made a small donation to Sabrina earlier on and hope that everyone can do the same.

How inhumane we can be?

May 9th, 2009

No additional story or words were needed for the story of abandoned strays in a wild island off Pulau Ketam - this is plain inhumane.  Letting these poor dogs to die in a deserted island is just unimaginable.

If you can offer any help at all, be it forwarding the above message, posting it in your blog, giving monetary contribution or be a volunteer or even adopting one of them & to love them, it would be great.  As for me, I’ll be making a small donation to TV Smith, Sabrina Yeap and their team and my prayers go to them - for them to safely rescue these animals.

Happy Wesak Day to all.

And, while we are all enjoying our weekend, lets bear in mind that there are selfless volunteers who are putting their lives in danger to rescue these dogs whom some has left to die.  Please help wherever we can.

UPDATE
I can’t believe this when I read this, but I’ll let you be the judge.  These dogs were left to die using the Malaysian taxpayer’s money!  Here’s the link

12 MAY 2009
I read and reread TV Smith and Sabrina Yeap’s pleas for assistance of any kind to rescue those poor helpless animals trapped in the island.  I promise that I’ll wake up 20 minutes earlier tomorrow to go to CIMB and contribute a small donation to the good cause - from my parents (who are animal lovers) and myself.  I’d want to volunteer and help however it is impossible at this moment due to work commitments.  Thus, I’ll be going all out promoting via my facebook, blog and via mouth - to see whether there is anyone within my network who could help in any way at all.

I feel saddened, thinking about these poor dogs.  They must be cold, hungry and in pain.  Probably their heart aches even more thinking about how human has deserted them and leaving them to die.  Everytime I think of it, the heart in me cry - if possible, I want to save every dog on the island and give them a life they truly deserve.

Cold, Flu & Cough … no, not the A(H1N1)

May 7th, 2009

I’ve got cold, flu and cough… all at one go.  The fever is gone after one terrible day at work - that made me feel like a zombie.

Even with all these, I was in Melaka with my boss on last Monday.  Just out of the blue, he asked if I was free and that he wanted me to go with him for a business discussion in Melaka.  We went at 1PM and reach back in KL at close to 7PM.  Tiring trip.

The fever got worse yesterday but I feel completely ok today after the medication.  And, I cant take any form of medication in the day unless I’m at home because I will fall asleep.  Yes, I mean ANY MEDICATION.  Terrible huh?

Today, the cough got worse.. I’m coughing uncontrolably.  Sigh.  I want to get well soon.  :)

Short weekend due to labour day

May 1st, 2009

Its a real short week - 4 days.  That means lost of 8 productive hours.  Here’s what I have done for the week, other than the regular 8am - 8pm work ..

Went to Nikko Hotel twice
The first was for the launch of Serena Brasserie, and the second was today for a site inspection.  We had buffet in those two sessions - now I feel like a big fat ass.  It will take me forever to shed off the extra calories I’ve consumed!!

Went to Yaki Yaki restaurant
The name suits the feeling I had when I was there … “YAKS”.  Highly not recommended no matter how cheap it is.

Went to an organization (can’t mention due to corporate privacy reasons) to pitch for an event
My subordinate went together with me because our senior sales manager couldn’t make it.  I did my research prior to the meeting, and everything went pretty smooth.  After the meeting, my subordinate said that I was a liar… haha.. I’d not go into details

Review meeting with principal
You can’t imagine the anxiety I feel for this meeting - its like meeting up with your secret admirer for the first time.  I always have butterflies in my stomach, no matter how prepared I am.

Made an initiative to meet the representative in Middle East, Europe .. blah blah
It was a sharing session - which was quite fruitful.  I have a few things in mind for APAC now… hehehe

Had a big argument over the smallest thing
Even the smallest thing can become like a volcano if not managed properly.  And Singaporeans are real kiasu no matter how close the person may be to me.  Proven.

Started the “Fruit Eating Program”Four of us in the company agree to chip in RM1 a day to purchase fresh fruits for our own consumption.  Leading towards a healthier lifestyle.  :)

That’s all about it… I think Tomorrow, I’m picking mum up and we are going for a little shopping trip.  :)
